Principal investigator (PI) : Fulltime (preferable)

Responsible for the preparation, conduct and administration of a research grant, research projects and respective operations to ensure timely and quality delivery. The PI is tasked in ensuring smooth integration of outputs from 3 research teams: wellbeing, resilience and future-readiness.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead research project direction and conceptual framework
  • Carry out proposals, research plans, resources (ie. budget, team)
  • Oversee the conduct of research and integrate different bodies of research (comprising wellbeing, resilience and future ready)
  • Oversee the research team to help ensure efficient and smooth process, as well as quality results
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely and quality execution, across BG’s research team and non-BG external partners
  • Support ad hoc research tasks, such as supporting content for seminars / workshops, act as a representative speaker at events, produce research articles for IPPD’s public relations

 

Qualifications

  • Hold a PhD in economics, development and planning, or similar backgrounds
  • Experienced in managing grants, research projects and operations for at least 5 years 
  • Has published academic papers with renowned international journals/ publication
  • Proficient in theoretical analysis and application, as well as data analysis 
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; excellent leadership
Senior data statistician : Fulltime

Utilize statistical knowledge and research skills to solve research goals / objectives. The senior data statistician shall develop, implement and interpret statistical models with a strong emphasis on using data mining, testing and statistical/predicative modelling for indicator validation and development.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of analytical models to drive researches, indicator development and outcomes
  • Identify and acquire additional data sources, both internal and external, that can be used to enhance analyses
  • Develop in-depth understanding of data available by utilizing statistics and data mining techniques
  • Provide guidance and work directions to research assistant (RA) teams regarding statistics, data mining techniques
  • Support ad hoc tasks, such as supporting organization of seminars / workshops, help provide additional recommendations / guidance on data analysis for the institute’s partners

 

Qualification:

  • Hold Master(s)/PhD in statistics, economics, mathematics, or computer science
  • Aptitude in predictive modelling, multivariate analysis, statistical modeling, data mining techniques and mathematical statistics
  • Knowledge of and experience with at least one major computer programming language or advanced syntax in a major statistical package
  • Proficiency with SAS and other statistical software (data step processing, developing and calling macros, and running statistical procedures); ablility to design an analysis methods for causal inference is strongly desired
  • Familiarity with complex survey, sampling methods, as well as statistical adjustments for non-random samples, non-equivalent groups, and selection bias
  • Other desired skills: measurement models, psychometrics, multilevel mixed methods and structural equation modelling
  • Proficient in writing and speaking English and Thai.
Wellbeing – Senior researcher/practitioner : Fulltime (preferable) or Part-time

Responsible in leading the development of theoretical framework and conducting researches. As a senior, the practitioner shall provide guidance, delegate workloads, as well as collaborate with other research team (resilience research team and future readiness team)

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead an in-depth specialization into the research domain of ‘well-being’ to drive new development indicator and outcomes.
  • Collaborate cross-cutting research framework with two other domains of specialization i.e. Resilience and Future-readiness teams.
  • Provide guidance and work directions to research assistants (RA) regarding indicator development on the domain of well-being.
  • Identify variables and data related to research domain specialization as well as engaging in fieldwork to construct research framework and test beta-version of development indicator.
  • Support ad hoc tasks, such as supporting organization of seminars / workshops, help provide additional recommendations / guidance on data analysis for the institute’s partners

 

Qualification

  • Hold Master(s) or PhD and/or a practice in the field of Psychology, Anthropology. Environmental science, Health & Wellness, Sociology and/or related background to well-being domain
  • Has published academic papers with renowned international journals/ publication
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in research project and management, preferably in the position of lead researcher.
  • Proficient in theoretical analysis and application, as well as data analysis 
  • Strong and systemic qualitative analysis skills. Quantitative analysis skill is also preferred.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; excellent leadership
  • Proficient in reading, writing and speaking English and Thai.
Wellbeing – research assistant (RA): Full-time

2 positions available

Responsible in providing support to primary researcher(s) in gathering and analyzing information and data. This comprises conducting statistical analyses, prepare presentation and other media for the research team’s findings and content. The RA is responsible in checking facts, proofreading and edit research documents to ensure accuracy.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist with academic researches, duties related to the production of research papers (i.e. literature review, gather and analyze data)
  • Prepare articles, reports and presentations, as well as other administrative duties, coordination and correspondence, as instructed, if essential to the research activities of the wellbeing team
  • Perform research work through interviews, online or whatever may be appropriate to assist the overall deliverable of wellbeing research team
  • Support ad hoc tasks, such as help organizing seminars / workshops, write articles to support the institute’s public relations

 

Qualification

  • Have at least 2 years experience working on research projects and research grants
  • Strong critical-thinking skills, analytical skills; being detail-oriented is strongly preferred
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
  • Skilled in statistical analyses and a range of advanced quantitative techniques, which might include multivariate linear, statistical weighting, effect size analysis etc.
  • Ability to effectively utilize software necessary to convert and process data (e.g. SPSS, Excel) is desired.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize and plan work activities while meeting respective deadlines. Strong organization and time-management skills.
  • Proficient in reading, writing and speaking English and Thai.
